Frequently Asked Questions
Audi Pre-Purchase Inspection Dubai — Your Questions Answered
The questions buyers ask us most often before booking. If yours is not here, message us and we will answer it directly.
How much does an Audi pre-purchase inspection cost in Dubai?
There is no single fixed price because the work differs significantly between models. A compact car such as an A1, A3 or Q2 sits at the lower end, while an A8, Q7, Q8 or an RS model with air suspension, adaptive damping and a full driver assistance suite requires considerably more testing time. Send us the model, year, mileage and VIN on WhatsApp and we will give you a firm, all-inclusive figure before we collect the car. That price includes collection, the full inspection, the written report, the debrief call and the return of the vehicle, with nothing added afterwards.
How long does the inspection take?
Most Audis take between two and four hours of workshop time. An A3 or A4 with a clean history is at the shorter end. A Q7 with air suspension, or any car where the paint survey suggests accident repair and we need to look deeper, takes longer. In almost every case we collect, inspect, report and return the car the same day. If we need to keep it overnight for any reason we will agree that with you and the seller in advance.
Do you offer a warranty or guarantee on your work?
Yes. Any repair work we carry out after the inspection is covered by a workmanship guarantee, with parts covered by the relevant manufacturer or supplier warranty. The exact terms are confirmed in writing on your quotation before we begin. The inspection itself is a report on the car's condition on the day it was assessed — we stand fully behind the accuracy of our findings and will discuss any of them with you at any point.
Do you use genuine Audi parts or aftermarket parts?
Whichever you prefer. We can arrange Audi genuine and OEM parts, quality aftermarket components from established brands, or tested used parts. We explain the realistic difference for each item on your list — genuine for critical cooling and timing components, quality aftermarket for brakes and consumables, used for body panels, trim and expensive modules on older cars. You make the call and we quote accordingly.
Do you collect and deliver the car?
Yes, free of charge, anywhere in Dubai. We collect from the seller, the showroom, your home or your office, and we return the car to wherever you ask afterwards. We coordinate the collection window directly with the seller so you do not have to arrange anything. You are welcome to be present at the workshop during the inspection, but there is no need to be.
Which Audi models do you inspect?
Every petrol Audi. The full A range from A1 through A3, A4, A5, A6, A7 and A8; the complete S range including S3, S4, S5, S6, S7 and S8; every RS model including RS 3, RS 4, RS 5, RS 6, RS 7 and RS Q8; the TT, TTS and TT RS; the R8 in V8 and V10 form; and the whole Q range covering Q2, Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8, SQ5, SQ7, SQ8 and RS Q3. If you are unsure, send us the VIN and we will confirm immediately.
Do you run diagnostics as part of the inspection?
Always, and it is one of the most important parts of the job. We perform a complete scan of every control unit on the car — not just the engine — reading stored faults, pending faults, intermittent faults, freeze-frame data, readiness monitors and module coding. We also cross-check the mileage stored in the engine, gearbox, ABS and cluster modules, which is how odometer tampering and recently cleared fault memories come to light.
How do I book an inspection?
Call or WhatsApp +971 52 791 4606. Send the VIN, a link to the advert, the asking price and the car's location. We will confirm the scope and price, arrange collection directly with the seller, and in most cases have the car inspected the same or next day. We understand that used car deals move quickly and we prioritise pre-purchase bookings accordingly.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash and card, and bank transfer for larger repair jobs. We take direct customer-paid work only — we do not work with insurance companies, which keeps our reporting completely independent and means there is no third party with an interest in what we do or do not write down. Payment for the inspection is due on completion, before or at the time the car is returned.
Can you inspect the car at my home or at the seller's location?
We can, but we would strongly encourage bringing the car to the workshop. A meaningful inspection requires a four-post lift to assess suspension, steering, drivetrain and underbody properly, and good light to carry out an accurate paint survey. Without those, the inspection is materially less thorough. If the seller will not release the vehicle we will attend on site, run the full diagnostic scan and road test, and tell you clearly what we were unable to assess.
What signs mean I definitely need a pre-purchase inspection?
A completely clean dashboard on a high-mileage car, gaps in the service history, uneven panel gaps, freshly sprayed underbody coating, any rattle on cold start, a gearbox that jolts or hesitates, an air suspension car that sits low overnight, mismatched glass or headlamps, or interior wear that does not match the odometer. Honestly, though — on any used Audi, at any price, the inspection is worth doing. The cars that look perfect are exactly the ones where an expensive problem hides best.
How often should an Audi be inspected like this?
A pre-purchase inspection is normally a one-off before you buy. After that, the equivalent is an annual health check, which we would recommend once a year or every 15,000 km for a car out of agency warranty, and before any long-distance trip. Many customers also book the same inspection before selling their Audi, so they can price it accurately and answer buyer questions with evidence rather than guesswork.
Will you tell me what the car is actually worth?
We will tell you what it will cost to put right, item by item, with realistic dirham figures. That is the number that matters in a negotiation. We will also give you a straight technical opinion on whether the asking price is sensible given the car's condition relative to others of the same model and age that we see. We are technicians rather than valuers, so we stay on the side of condition and cost rather than market pricing.
What happens if the inspection finds serious problems?
You get the evidence in writing with photographs, and a phone call explaining exactly what it means in practical terms. If it is something structural, a failing gearbox or a compromised engine, we will say so plainly and tell you to walk away. If it is a significant but fixable fault, we will cost the repair so you can decide whether to negotiate it off the price and have the work done. Either way you have made the decision with facts instead of hope, which is the whole point of the exercise.
Can you inspect more than one car for me?
Yes, and a lot of buyers do exactly that when they are choosing between two or three similar cars. We apply a reduced rate to the second and third inspections, and comparing the reports side by side is often the clearest way to see which car has genuinely been looked after. It also frequently reveals that the more expensive car is the better buy, or the opposite.
Are you an authorised Audi dealer?
No. We are an independent Audi specialist garage, and for a pre-purchase inspection that independence is the whole point. We have no relationship with any seller or showroom, no brand targets, and no interest in whether the deal completes. Our technicians work exclusively on Audi vehicles using factory-level diagnostic equipment and manufacturer procedures, so you get dealer-level inspection standards without dealer overheads being built into the price.
