A little preventive care goes a long way in this climate. These are the habits we genuinely recommend to every A7 owner we look after — free advice from people who see the consequences of skipping it:

• Shorten your oil change interval. Heat and stop-start traffic degrade oil faster than highway miles in Europe. Change every 8,000–10,000 km with the correct approved oil, especially on the supercharged 3.0 TFSI and the turbocharged C8 engines.
• Watch the coolant like a hawk. A slowly dropping coolant level or a sweet smell after parking is the A7's most important early warning in Dubai. Book an inspection immediately — a pump or thermostat now beats a head gasket later.
• Test the battery before summer. Gulf heat quietly kills batteries, and the A7's electronics hate low voltage — half the "random" fault lights we see in June trace back to a tired battery or, on the C8, the 48V system. A five-minute test each spring avoids a July breakdown.
• Don't ignore a sagging corner. If one corner of the car sits lower after a night parked, an air strut is leaking. Caught early, it's one strut; ignored, the overworked compressor fails too and the bill doubles.
