Audi Climate & Air Conditioning Specialists

Audi AC Service Dubai — Air Con Service & Regas

Dubai summers punish car air conditioning like nowhere else on earth, and a struggling climate system is one of the most common reasons an Audi lands on our ramps. Our Audi AC service Dubai workshop diagnoses, repairs, evacuates and regases every petrol Audi model — A1 through A8, the full S and RS range, TT, R8 and the entire Q family — using Audi-specific pressure data rather than generic garage guesswork. We are an independent Audi-only specialist, not an authorised dealer, and we deliver dealer-level workmanship at a far fairer price, with free pickup and drop-off anywhere in Dubai.

What An Audi AC Service Actually Involves

Why Audi Air Conditioning Fails Faster In Dubai

An air conditioning system is a sealed loop that moves heat out of the cabin and dumps it into the air passing through the condenser at the front of the car. It sounds simple, and in a temperate climate it largely is. In Dubai it is anything but. Between May and September the system is asked to pull a cabin from 70°C soak temperature down to 22°C, then hold it there while the outside air is still above 45°C and the humidity coming off the Gulf is sitting in the seventies. The compressor spends hours at high load, the condenser has almost no temperature differential to work with, and every seal, hose and O-ring in the circuit is being cooked and pressure-cycled far beyond what the original engineering brief in Ingolstadt ever contemplated.

That is the honest reason a proper Audi AC service Dubai owners can rely on is not the same job as a quick regas at a tyre shop. Refrigerant does not get "used up" the way fuel does. If your Audi is low on gas, it is because gas has escaped — through a porous hose, a tired shaft seal on the compressor, a stone-chipped condenser, a leaking evaporator, or a service port valve that has hardened in the heat. Topping the system up without finding that leak simply resets the clock. You will be back in eight weeks, several hundred dirhams lighter, with the same fault.

Our approach is the opposite. Every AC service for Audi Dubai customers bring to us starts with measurement: static pressures, high and low side pressures under load, vent temperature, compressor duty cycle, and the live climate control data from the Climatronic control module. Only once we understand what the system is doing do we decide whether it needs a leak repair, a component replacement, a cabin-side airflow fix, or simply a proper evacuation, oil correction and recharge to the exact factory weight.

What A Full Service And Regas Includes

A complete service is a sequence, not a single operation. We recover whatever refrigerant remains in the system and weigh it, because the shortfall against the factory fill weight is the single most useful diagnostic number available. We pull a deep vacuum and hold it to prove the circuit is sealed. We replace the compressor lubricant that came out with the recovered gas, using the correct PAG oil viscosity for your specific compressor. We recharge to the exact gram figure printed on the under-bonnet label, not "until the gauge looks right". Then we run the system, measure the vent temperature at the centre outlets and verify that the pressures match the Audi specification for the ambient temperature on the day.

Alongside the refrigerant work we address the air side, which is where a surprising number of "weak AC" complaints actually originate. A cabin filter that has been in a Dubai car for two summers is a felt mat of sand, construction dust and pollen. Airflow across the evaporator collapses, the evaporator ices at the leading edge, and the driver feels a system that blows cold for ten minutes and then fades. That is not a gas problem. That is a filter and airflow problem, and no amount of refrigerant will fix it.

R134a, R1234yf And Why It Matters On Your Audi

Audi models sold in the region use one of two refrigerants depending on build year. Older cars run R134a. Newer cars — broadly the later B9 A4, C8 A6, D5 A8, second-generation Q7 and Q8 platforms and the RS models built alongside them — run R1234yf, which is a mildly flammable, far more expensive gas requiring a completely separate recovery and charging machine. The two must never be mixed, and a system that has been cross-contaminated is an expensive problem to unwind.

This is one of the practical reasons an Audi AC service specialist Dubai owners choose matters more than it might appear. A general workshop with one R134a machine will sometimes charge an R1234yf car with the wrong gas because the ports can be adapted. We hold separate equipment for both refrigerants, identify the correct gas from the under-bonnet label and the VIN build data, and refuse the job rather than cross-fill a system. It is the kind of discipline that costs us a little in turnaround time and saves customers a great deal in compressor replacements.

The Sand Factor Nobody Accounts For

Dubai's other contribution to AC failure is abrasive. Fine airborne sand works its way through the front bumper aperture and embeds in the condenser fins. Over three or four years the condenser face becomes a partially blocked, salt-laden mat. Heat rejection drops, high-side pressures climb, the compressor works harder and the pressure switch starts cutting the clutch in and out. Owners describe it as "the AC gets weak in traffic but is fine on Sheikh Zayed Road" — a textbook description of a condenser that only works when there is 100km/h of ram air forcing itself through.

We check condenser condition on every car, clean the fin pack where it is salvageable, and tell you honestly when it is corroded beyond recovery. On coastal-parked cars in Jumeirah, Palm Jumeirah and Marina we see condenser corrosion significantly earlier than on cars kept inland in Mirdif or Silicon Oasis. Local context genuinely changes the diagnosis.

Warning Signs

Signs Your Audi Needs An AC Service Or Regas

Air conditioning rarely fails without warning. It degrades, and Audi owners tend to normalise that degradation over a season until one 48°C afternoon makes it impossible to ignore. These are the symptoms we see most often, and what each one usually points to on an Audi specifically.

Air Is Cool, Not Cold

The most common complaint. Vent temperature sits around 14–18°C instead of the 4–8°C an Audi system should achieve. Usually a partial refrigerant loss, a clogged condenser or a compressor with reduced displacement.

Cold At Speed, Warm In Traffic

Classic condenser airflow or cooling fan fault. On Q7, Q8 and A8 models the fan control module is a frequent culprit; on B8 A4 and A5 the fin pack is often simply blocked with sand.

Weak Airflow From The Vents

Fan noise rises but little air arrives. Almost always a saturated cabin filter, a failing blower motor regulator, or ice forming on the evaporator face because airflow has already collapsed.

Musty Or Sour Smell On Startup

Microbial growth on a permanently damp evaporator — extremely common in Dubai humidity. Needs an evaporator clean and filter housing treatment, not a regas.

AC Cuts Out Intermittently

The compressor clutch engages then drops out after a few minutes. Typically low-pressure cut-out from gas loss, a failing pressure sensor, or high-side overpressure protection triggering.

Takes Far Too Long To Cool Down

Where the car used to be comfortable within three minutes it now takes fifteen. Gradual refrigerant loss is the usual answer, sometimes combined with a failed recirculation flap actuator pulling hot outside air in.

Rattle Or Whine When AC Engages

Compressor bearing wear, a slipping clutch or a tired belt tensioner. Worth catching early — a compressor that seizes sends metal debris through the whole circuit and turns a moderate bill into a major one.

One Zone Cold, Another Warm

On 3-zone and 4-zone Climatronic cars — A6, A7, A8, Q7, Q8 — a stuck blend flap actuator or a failed stepper motor. A gas issue affects all zones equally; uneven temperature points at the air distribution side.

Damp Carpets Or Fogging Windscreen

A blocked evaporator drain backing condensate into the footwell, or a leaking heater matrix. Both need attention quickly before the water reaches floor-mounted control modules.

Symptoms Owners Frequently Misread

Two patterns cause the most wasted money. The first is assuming any loss of cooling means the car needs gas. Roughly a third of the cars that arrive here for a "regas" turn out to have a full and correctly weighted charge, with the fault sitting in the cabin airflow, a control flap, or a cooling fan. We measure before we recover, precisely so we do not sell you refrigerant you do not need.

The second is dismissing a faint hiss or a light film of oily residue near the compressor or condenser lines. Refrigerant carries oil with it, so an escaping leak leaves a greasy, dust-collecting mark at the exit point. That mark is the single easiest leak to find and the cheapest to repair — if it is caught before the system runs dry and the compressor starts operating without lubrication.

If your Audi is showing two or more of the symptoms above, it is worth having the system measured rather than waiting. Send us a message on WhatsApp describing what you are experiencing and we will tell you honestly whether it sounds like a service, a leak repair or a component failure before you commit to anything.

Our Workshop Process

How We Service And Regas An Audi, Step By Step

Every car follows the same disciplined sequence. It takes longer than a fifteen-minute forecourt regas, and that is deliberate — the extra time is where the diagnosis happens.

01

Interview And Baseline Measurement

We start by asking what you have actually noticed and when. Cold in the morning but weak by mid-afternoon tells a different story to uniformly poor cooling from cold start. We then take a baseline before touching anything: ambient temperature and humidity, vent temperature at the centre outlets with the system on maximum, recirculation on and blower at full, plus static system pressure through the service ports.

These numbers are recorded so we can prove improvement at the end rather than asking you to take our word for it.

02

Audi-Specific Diagnostic Scan

We connect Audi-capable diagnostic equipment and interrogate the Climatronic control module (J255) along with the associated fan control, pressure sensor and blend flap actuator addresses. Stored and pending fault codes are read, then we look at live data: refrigerant pressure sensor value, evaporator temperature sensor, compressor regulating valve duty cycle, blower voltage and each flap position value.

This is where a specialist workshop separates itself. A generic OBD reader shows engine codes. It does not show that the compressor regulating valve on your B9 A4 is being commanded to 85% duty and only producing 40% of expected displacement.

03

Recovery And Weighing Of Existing Refrigerant

Using the correct machine for your car's refrigerant type, we recover everything in the system and weigh it against the factory fill quantity on the under-bonnet label. A car that should hold 600g and returns 520g has a slow seep worth monitoring. A car that returns 120g has an active leak that must be found before any recharge is justified.

We share this figure with you before deciding the next step, because it directly determines whether the job is a service or a repair.

04

Leak Detection Where The Numbers Demand It

If the shortfall indicates a real leak we pressurise the system with dry nitrogen and listen, then use an electronic halogen sniffer around every joint, the compressor shaft seal, the condenser face, the receiver drier, the expansion valve and the evaporator drain. Where a leak is intermittent we introduce UV tracer dye, return the car to you, and inspect again after a week of normal driving.

Common Audi leak points we find repeatedly: condenser stone damage on A4 and A5 models, the front-of-engine line union on 3.0 TFSI V6 cars, compressor shaft seals on high-mileage Q7s, and evaporator core leaks on older A6 and A8 platforms.

05

Deep Vacuum And Hold Test

The system is evacuated to a deep vacuum for a sustained period. This does two jobs: it removes every trace of moisture, which would otherwise combine with refrigerant to form acids that attack the compressor from the inside, and it proves the circuit is sealed. We then isolate the pump and watch the vacuum for a hold period. Any rise means a leak remains, and we do not proceed to recharge a system that fails this test.

06

Oil Correction And Precision Recharge

Compressor lubricant leaves with the recovered gas, so we replace the measured quantity using the correct PAG oil grade for your compressor — the wrong viscosity is a slow death sentence for a variable-displacement unit. UV dye is added where diagnosis calls for it. The system is then charged to the exact factory gram weight, machine-metered, never estimated.

07

Cabin Air Side: Filter, Evaporator And Drain

We replace the cabin filter as standard on a full service unless yours is genuinely recent. The evaporator housing is treated with an antibacterial cleaner to deal with the biofilm responsible for that sour smell, and the condensate drain is cleared and flow-tested. On many Audi models the filter sits behind a footwell panel; we refit every clip and cover properly rather than leaving trim rattling.

08

Performance Verification And Road Test

With the system charged we re-run the full measurement set: high and low side pressures against the Audi specification for the day's ambient temperature, vent temperature at every outlet, all zones checked independently on multi-zone cars, and compressor cycling behaviour observed at idle and at road speed. Then the car is road tested in real Dubai conditions, including stationary in traffic, because that is the condition that exposes marginal cooling.

You receive the before and after numbers. If the vent temperature has not come down to where it should be, we tell you why and what remains outstanding rather than handing the keys back and hoping.

Models We Cover

Every Petrol Audi Model We Service In Dubai

We work exclusively on Audi. That single restriction is what allows our technicians to carry model-specific knowledge instead of general familiarity, and it is why an Audi AC service garage Dubai drivers return to looks different from a multi-brand workshop. Below is the full petrol range we handle, with notes on what tends to go wrong on each family.

A1, A3 And S3

Compact platforms with a tightly packaged front end. The condenser sits close to the intercooler on turbocharged cars, so blockage and stone damage are frequent. On the A3 and S3 we also see blower regulator failures producing weak airflow that owners mistake for low gas. Cabin filter access is straightforward, which keeps routine service cost sensible.

A4, S4, RS4, A5, S5, RS5

The highest-volume family in our workshop. B8 and B9 generations both use variable-displacement compressors controlled by a regulating valve, and a failing valve produces exactly the "cool but not cold" symptom without any gas loss at all. Condenser stone damage is common on these cars given how much motorway mileage they cover.

A6, S6, RS6, A7, S7, RS7

Larger cabins with 3-zone or 4-zone Climatronic on most specifications. More zones means more blend flap actuators, and a single stuck stepper motor will leave one seat position warm while the rest of the car is cold. On RS6 and RS7 models the additional cooling package crowds the front end, making condenser cleaning a more involved job.

A8 And S8

The most complex climate systems Audi builds, with 4-zone control, rear console operation and in some specifications separately controlled rear evaporator circuits. Diagnosis genuinely requires module-level data. Rear-zone faults on D4 and D5 A8 models are regularly misdiagnosed elsewhere as a refrigerant problem when the fault is a rear control panel or an actuator.

TT, TTS And TT RS

Small cabin volume means the system cools quickly when healthy, so degradation is noticed late — the car still feels acceptable at 60% capacity. Compact engine bays make the compressor and lines awkward to reach, and the condenser takes a hard life behind a low front aperture.

R8

Mid-engine layout with front-mounted condensers and long refrigerant runs through the car. Line and union leaks are proportionally more common simply because there is more plumbing. These cars need careful handling on the ramp and unhurried work; we allocate additional time accordingly.

Q2, Q3 And RS Q3

Popular family cars that spend a great deal of time in stop-start Dubai traffic, which is the hardest duty cycle for any AC system. Cooling fan faults and blocked condensers dominate the fault list. RS Q3 models add the same front-end packaging pressure found on other RS cars.

Q5, SQ5, Q7, SQ7, Q8, SQ8, RS Q8

Large cabins with substantial glass area and a very high thermal load in Dubai summer, so any loss of capacity shows immediately. Q7 and Q8 models commonly present with rear-zone cooling complaints, cooling fan module faults and compressor shaft seal seepage at higher mileage. These are the cars where a correct diagnosis saves the most money, because guessing on a Q7 climate system is expensive.

If your Audi is not listed above, it is almost certainly still within our scope — send us the model and year on WhatsApp and we will confirm.

Parts And Components

Genuine, Aftermarket Or Quality Used — Your Choice

Most AC services need nothing beyond refrigerant, oil and a cabin filter. When a component does need replacing, we can arrange whatever route suits your car, its age and your budget, and we explain the trade-off honestly rather than defaulting to the most expensive option.

Genuine And OEM

Audi-supplied parts, or the identical component from the original manufacturer in their own packaging. The sensible choice for compressors, evaporators and control modules on newer cars, and for any vehicle still under an extended warranty arrangement.

Quality Aftermarket

Established European brands that supply into the same market. For condensers, receiver driers, expansion valves, cabin filters and hoses these are frequently indistinguishable in service and meaningfully cheaper. We only use brands we have long-term evidence for.

Tested Used

For older or higher-mileage cars where a new compressor exceeds sensible economics, a properly sourced and tested used unit can keep an otherwise excellent Audi comfortable for years. We are upfront about the risk profile so you can decide.

Components we most frequently replace on Audi climate systems include cabin filters, condensers, receiver driers, expansion valves, refrigerant pressure sensors, blower motors and their regulators, blend flap actuators, cooling fan modules and — less often, because we work hard to avoid it — compressors. Whenever the system has been open to atmosphere or a compressor has failed, we replace the drier as a matter of course. It is an inexpensive part whose entire job is absorbing moisture, and reusing a saturated one undermines everything else in the repair.

What we will not do is fit the cheapest available part without telling you what it is. Parts choice is your decision; our job is making sure it is an informed one.

Why Choose Us

An Audi Specialist Versus The Dealership

We are not an authorised Audi dealer and we do not pretend otherwise. What we offer is the same standard of work delivered by technicians who see nothing but Audi vehicles all day, at a price that reflects an independent workshop's cost base rather than a dealership's. For owners whose cars are outside the warranty period, the value difference is substantial.

What "Dealer-Level Quality" Means In Practice

It means torque figures come from data, not from feel. It means a system is never recharged without a vacuum hold test passing first. It means the refrigerant charge is weighed to the gram. It means the under-tray fasteners that had to come out to reach the condenser all go back in, and the cabin filter housing is sealed properly so unfiltered air is not bypassing the element you just paid for.

None of that is glamorous. All of it is the difference between an AC system that works for three summers and one that is back on a ramp before Ramadan.

Experience You Can Interrogate

Our technicians have spent their careers on Audi platforms, which means they carry the pattern knowledge that only comes from repetition: which model years suffer condenser corrosion first, which compressor regulating valves fail in a way that mimics low gas, which actuator failures produce which specific zone symptom. When you call, you can ask detailed questions about your exact model and get a detailed answer rather than a booking slot.

We stand behind our work with a guarantee on both labour and the parts we supply, with the terms explained clearly in writing before you commit. If something we did is not right, it comes back to us and we sort it.

Honest About Limits

We do not work with insurance companies. Every job here is direct and customer-paid, which keeps the relationship simple: we answer to you, not to an assessor deciding what may be authorised. If your situation genuinely needs an insurance claim, we will say so early rather than starting work that cannot be completed the way it should be.

Cost Factors

What Affects Audi AC Service Cost In Dubai

We do not publish fixed prices, and we would be suspicious of anyone who does for this type of work. A regas on a healthy A3 and a compressor replacement on an RS Q8 are not the same job, and quoting a single figure would mean either overcharging the first customer or under-quoting the second. What we can do is explain exactly which variables move the number, so that when you call for a quote on Audi AC service cost Dubai the conversation is transparent.

FactorWhy It Changes The Price
Refrigerant typeR1234yf costs several times more per gram than R134a. A newer A6, Q7 or Q8 running R1234yf will always carry a higher recharge cost than an older R134a car, entirely because of the gas.
System capacityAn A1 holds far less refrigerant than a 4-zone Q7 with rear climate. Larger multi-zone systems simply need more gas and more oil.
Service versus repairA clean evacuate-and-recharge with a filter is the base job. If leak detection, dye tracing and a component replacement are needed, labour and parts are added on top.
Which component has failedA pressure sensor is a modest part. A condenser is mid-range. A compressor, an evaporator or a rear climate unit sits at the top — an evaporator in particular requires dashboard removal on most Audi models, which is where the labour hours live.
Access difficulty by modelFront-end dismantling on RS models and Q-range SUVs takes longer than on an A3. R8 line access adds time. This is real labour, and it is reflected honestly.
Parts route chosenGenuine, quality aftermarket or tested used produce materially different totals for the same repair. You choose after we present the options.
Contamination or prior bad workCross-filled refrigerant, sealant products previously injected into the system, or a compressor that has failed internally and shed debris all require flushing and additional component replacement.
Related work foundA seized cooling fan, a perished belt tensioner or a blocked condensate drain discovered during diagnosis. We quote these separately and you decide whether to proceed.

How We Quote

You get a diagnosis first, then a written quote, then a decision — in that order, always. Nothing is dismantled beyond what is needed to diagnose, and no parts are ordered without your approval. If we find something additional mid-job we stop and call you before continuing. There is no scenario in which you receive an invoice containing work you did not agree to.

For owners looking for affordable Audi AC service Dubai wide, the largest single saving is usually catching the problem early. A refrigerant leak repaired while the system still holds most of its charge is a fraction of the cost of the compressor replacement that follows when the system runs dry and the compressor loses lubrication. Prevention genuinely is cheaper here.

Free Collection And Delivery

8. Aftercare

You keep a direct line to us. If anything is not behaving as expected in the weeks afterwards, message the same number and we will get the car back in.

Can You Service The Car At My Home?

Honestly, no — and we would rather explain why than pretend otherwise. Proper refrigerant recovery, deep vacuum and metered recharge require a fixed machine, a stable power supply and controlled conditions. Mobile "regas" services that pour gas in from a can in a car park cannot weigh what came out, cannot pull a vacuum, and cannot prove the system is sealed. That is precisely the practice that leaves owners refilling every two months. Our free collection and delivery exists so you get proper workshop equipment without the inconvenience of bringing the car in yourself.

Local Patterns We Actually See

Location changes what fails. Cars kept on the Palm, in Jumeirah or along the Marina coastline show condenser corrosion noticeably earlier because of salt-laden air, and we check the fin pack particularly carefully on those vehicles. Cars that spend their lives commuting between Silicon Oasis, Academic City and Business Bay accumulate enormous stop-start hours, which is the hardest possible duty cycle for a compressor and cooling fan. Vehicles parked near active construction in areas like Dubai South or Tilal Al Ghaf arrive with cabin filters that are effectively solid after a single season.

Where there is underground parking, our driver will meet you at the entrance or arrange building access with security — that is routine for us across towers in Marina, JLT, Downtown and Business Bay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Audi AC Service Dubai — Questions Answered

The questions we are asked most often, answered directly. If yours is not here, message us on WhatsApp and we will answer it properly.

How much does an Audi AC service cost in Dubai?

There is no single figure, because the work varies enormously. A straightforward evacuate, oil-correct and recharge with a new cabin filter on a smaller R134a model sits at the lower end. A newer car running R1234yf costs more purely because that refrigerant is far more expensive per gram. A leak repair, condenser, evaporator or compressor replacement adds parts and labour on top. We diagnose first, then give you a written quote before any work begins, so you always know the number in advance.

How long does an Audi AC service and regas take?

A full service with diagnosis, recovery, vacuum hold test, recharge, cabin filter and verification typically takes a few hours, and we usually complete it the same day. If leak detection with UV dye is required we may ask you to drive the car for a week before returning for inspection. Component replacements such as a condenser or compressor generally need a day or more, and an evaporator replacement requires dashboard removal and takes considerably longer. We give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.

Do you offer a warranty on AC work?

Yes. We guarantee both our labour and the parts we supply, with the exact terms confirmed in writing before you approve the job. Coverage differs depending on whether you chose genuine, aftermarket or tested used components, and we explain that difference clearly rather than burying it. If something we worked on is not right, bring it back and we will put it right.

Should I use genuine Audi parts or aftermarket?

It depends on the component and the age of the car. For compressors, evaporators and electronic control modules on newer vehicles, genuine or OEM is usually the sensible investment. For condensers, receiver driers, expansion valves, hoses and cabin filters, quality aftermarket from established European suppliers performs identically at a meaningfully lower cost. On older high-mileage cars, a tested used compressor can be the economically rational choice. We present the options with honest pros and cons and you decide.

Do you collect and deliver my Audi?

Yes, free of charge, anywhere in Dubai. There is no minimum spend and no distance surcharge. We collect from homes, offices, tower parking and mall car parks, and return the vehicle to whatever address suits you once the work is complete. Given how unpleasant driving without air conditioning is in a Dubai summer, this is the part of our service customers mention most.

Which Audi models do you service?

Every petrol Audi model. That covers A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7 and A8; the complete S range including S3, S4, S5, S6, S7 and S8; the RS range including RS3, RS4, RS5, RS6 and RS7; TT, TTS and TT RS; R8; and the full Q family — Q2, Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8 along with SQ5, SQ7, SQ8, RS Q3 and RS Q8. We work on Audi exclusively, which is exactly why our model-specific knowledge runs deep.

Do you carry out diagnostics before the work?

Always. We take baseline vent and pressure readings, run an Audi-specific scan of the Climatronic and related modules, and weigh the recovered refrigerant against the factory fill quantity before deciding anything. Roughly a third of cars booked in for a regas turn out to have a correct charge and a fault elsewhere — airflow, a flap actuator or a cooling fan. Measuring first is how we avoid selling you gas you do not need.

How do I book an Audi AC service?

Call or WhatsApp +971 52 791 4606. Tell us your model, year and what you are experiencing, and we will advise whether it sounds like a service, a leak or a component failure before you commit to anything. Once you are happy to proceed we agree a free collection window that fits your schedule.

What payment options do you accept?

We accept the usual direct payment methods and confirm what is available when we issue your quote. All work here is direct and customer-paid — we do not work with insurance companies, which keeps the process simple and means we answer to you rather than to a claims assessor.

Can you service my Audi AC at my home instead of the workshop?

No, and for a good reason. Correct refrigerant recovery, deep vacuum evacuation and gram-accurate recharging need fixed workshop equipment and a stable power supply. Mobile regas services that add gas from a can cannot weigh what was removed, cannot pull a vacuum and cannot verify the system is sealed — which is why those cars are back within weeks. Our free pickup and drop-off gives you full workshop capability without leaving your home or office.

What are the signs I need an AC service?

Air that is cool rather than genuinely cold, cooling that fades in traffic but recovers at speed, weak airflow from the vents, a musty smell when you first start the car, the system cutting in and out, one climate zone warmer than another, longer cool-down times than you remember, a rattle when the compressor engages, or damp footwell carpets. Two or more of these together is a clear signal to have the system measured.

How often does an Audi need an AC service in Dubai?

More often than in Europe. We suggest a performance check every year, ideally in spring before the worst heat arrives, with the cabin filter replaced annually or sooner in dusty areas. A healthy sealed system should not need regular regassing at all — if yours needs topping up every year, you have a leak rather than a maintenance requirement, and finding it is cheaper than repeatedly paying for refrigerant.

My AC blows cold then goes warm after ten minutes. What is that?

Usually the evaporator icing up because airflow across it has collapsed — typically a saturated cabin filter or a failing blower. It can also be a low-pressure cut-out from gradual gas loss, or a faulty evaporator temperature sensor letting the coil freeze. All three produce the same symptom and need different fixes, which is why measurement rather than assumption matters here.

Is a cheap regas at a quick-fit shop worth it?

Rarely. If the system is low it is because gas escaped, and adding more without locating the leak means paying again shortly afterwards. Worse, some quick services inject stop-leak sealant, which can contaminate the circuit and turn a simple hose repair into a full system flush with multiple component replacements. We do not use sealants, and we would rather find your leak once.

Do you handle both R134a and R1234yf refrigerant?

Yes, with separate dedicated equipment for each. Newer Audi models use R1234yf and older ones use R134a, and the two must never be mixed. We identify the correct gas from the under-bonnet label and the build data before touching the system, and we will decline a job rather than cross-fill a car — a contaminated system is a far more expensive problem than the one you came in with.

Will a bad AC system affect anything else on my Audi?

It can. A compressor running with insufficient refrigerant loses its lubrication and eventually seizes, which can shred the accessory belt and take out other belt-driven components. A blocked condensate drain lets water into the footwell where control modules live. And a cooling fan fault that presents as poor AC will also compromise engine cooling. Air conditioning problems are worth addressing promptly rather than tolerating through a summer.
